Sounds to me like you may be doing too much for your children could that be true :-)
Or is that they just do not take responsibility for themselves?

About Me:
I teach English and German at a High School to 12-16 year olds. I hold 3 Bachelor degrees and 1 Master Special Educational Needs, but NONE in parenting, obviously! I'm an eclectic, adventurous person, very dedicated and tenacious. I was divorced from my Cuban husband 5 years ago. Since 3 years we live with my new Dutch partner, whom the kids seem to accept 100%.
About my teenager:
I have 2, actually. My son, Kevin, is 14 years old. He has a Growth Hormone Deficiency, which causes him to be small for his age. He attends Grammar School and up till now he did fine, bit since this schoolyear his grades have dropped dramatically.
My daughter, Wendy, is 12. She is very precocious and can be awfully demanding. She is strong willed and wants to be independent (when it is convenient to her). She is a very social person.
The one question I would like to ask Sarah.
How to get my son to realise that he'll have to go thru trouble himself if he wants to stay in school. No decision is in fact a decision too!
My biggest challenge.
Not to be all over the kids, sermoning them all the time.
