Great to have you here Michael. Your commitment to you step-daughter is amazing to see I myself and in my second marriage so I know the challenges and joys that can come with that. It will be tricky and slowly does it and concentrating on the relationship about all else will do it.
Regards your question. Yes I think they are and the new "teen years" can I think we re-defined as 8-26 (what is referred to as Generation Y)
Great to have you on board
Sarah :-)

About Me:
I'm a patient man in a new marriage. My children are grown and on their own. My new wife brings 2 wonderful, yet challenging, children into our marriage.
About my teenager:
I have two daughters who are not quite teens, but that stage of their lives is just around the corner.
The one question I would like to ask Sarah.
Are children reaching the teen behavior years sooner than they did a generation ago?
My biggest challenge.
Being a loving and effective parent to two gilrs who are not my own children, but who I love just as if they were. They lost their dad recently to a disease and the timing for me to step in as a guiding parent will be a very tricky endeavor.
